Exhibition Tour

Exhibition: “Negative S P A C E” artist led tour
Date: Friday 11 April
Time: 7.30PM

Join us for an artist led tour of the exhibition “Negative Space” curated by Engage 101 x Nasij, featuring UAE-based early and mid-career artists and artist collectives. The exhibition seeks to explore the resourcefulness and resilience of artists who work outside the confines of institutional representation and practitioners who navigate the scarcity of creative spaces.

Young Collectors Circle was a really interesting and informative experience for me because I don’t have an art background. It’s nice to see the thought process behind each of the pieces and have a personal session with the artist to hear about their experiences throughout their art journey.

Attending the Young Collectors Circle event was a transformative experience for me as someone who didn’t know much about art, as it provided an engaging and accessible space to learn, connect with others, and discover the joy of art collecting.

The artist’s tour was an exceptional experience. Their personalized approach and Nadine’s informative talk about the UAE’s art scene gave me a new perspective and opened up opportunities for me to explore the world of emerging artists.

Mohammed Al Hawajri Studio Visit

The Young Collectors Circle had an inspiring visit to Mohammad Al Hawajri’s studio in Sharjah. Originally from Gaza, Al Hawajri has turned to art as a powerful creative outlet after losing his gallery, studio space, and home.

During the visit, the group had the unique opportunity to hear his story, explore his artistic journey, and connect with his work up close. We even took a walk with him to the Sharjah Art Museum, where he showed us one of his works currently on view — a powerful moment that brought the conversation full circle.

8th Street Studios

The Young Collectors Circle had the pleasure of visiting 8th Street Studios for an inspiring afternoon of art, conversation, and connection. Over steaming cups of karak, the group explored the studios, meeting a dynamic community of artists and gaining firsthand insight into their practices. From creative processes to personal inspirations, each encounter offered a unique glimpse into the minds behind the work.

Studio Thirteen Visit

The Young Collectors Circle stepped into an intimate exploration of art and creativity at Studio Thirteen. Over warm cups of karak, they engaged in thoughtful conversations and had the opportunity to meet many inspiring artists in their own spaces. The artists welcomed them with open arms, offering an in-depth look into their creative processes, inspirations, and techniques.

ICD Brookfield x Dar Jacir

Visitors immersed themselves in curated tours of the exhibition Water Like Tears, Flour Like Soil, which brought together artists through experiences of residency, community, and exchange.

The curated tours offered an inspiring journey, exploring works by Palestinian and international artists that wove together intimate and universal themes, reflecting the resilience of culture and the shared human experience. Each piece revealed profound connections and the compelling stories they carry.

The Yes Collection x Ode by Judy

The Young Collectors Circle immersed themselves in an intimate supper club experience, surrounded by The Yes Collection, a prominent Dubai-based private collection.

The evening was an inspiring journey for the Circle, exploring how art can be seamlessly integrated into everyday life and how living spaces can be curated with passion and storytelling.
