Jana Ghalayini (b.1993) is an artist based between Toronto, Canada and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Ghalayini holds a BFA in Printmaking from OCAD University and is a self-taught weaver who draws inspiration from her Palestinian heritage. Between intuitive weaving, mixed-media work and printmaking, she is interested in repetition and mark-making as process-based forms that act as rituals leading up to the final form of an artwork. She consistently investigates and reflects on the connection between tangible materials and fragmentation while exploring layers in her work and mindfully uses her practice to keep a record of gestural marks documenting personal memory, experience and ideas that can evolve as time goes on.
Raya Kassisieh (b. 1991), a London-based artist of Palestinian heritage raised in Amman, Jordan, blends her background in textiles and pattern-making with her sculptural practice. A graduate of Pratt Institute in New York and the Royal College of Art in London, Raya explores the politics of the body through multidisciplinary works. Utilizing materials like steel and copper, she creates intricate, naturalistic forms inspired by her heritage. Her art examines autonomy, identity, and the interplay of personal history with societal constructs, positioning the body as a powerful tool for reimagination and self-expression.
Samar Hejazi (b. 1987) is a Palestinian-Canadian visual artist with a BFA in New Media from Ryerson University. Drawing from craft traditions, she incorporates light, shadow, reflection, and movement to explore the fluid nature of perception and the boundaries of meaning-making in reality. Her artistic process continuously engages with diverse materials and forms to deepen this exploration.
Margaux Derhy (b. 1985), a French Moroccan artist, explores themes of family heritage, identity, and cultural memory. Educated at Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art, she splits her time between Paris and Massa, Morocco. Margaux’s experimental practice merges painting, sewing, embroidery, and ceramics to create deeply personal and evocative pieces.
