Tashkeel, an art facility located in Nad Al Sheba in Dubai. It was established in 2008 by Lateefa bint Maktoum and seeks to provide a nurturing environment for the growth of contemporary art and design practice rooted in the UAE.
The “Made in Tashkeel” exhibition is the perfect stepping stone to learning about new artists in the UAE along with some familiar names in the art scene. I visited the gallery on Sunday where Lisa Ball-Lechgner was leading a tour on collecting art. The artwork prices range from 300 onwards and allow the collector a wide selection to fit their budgets and taste.
The 12th edition of “Made in Tashkeel” celebrates the creative community’s skill and expertise to make, create and explore. Featuring myriad mediums and multiple narratives, the diverse range of art and design works hail from Tashkeel’s many members, artist-in-residents, workshop instructors and participants as well as recent exhibitors and clients of our fine art printing and laser-cutting services. Presenting over 90 pieces by 42 artists from 22 countries, this exhibition is a snapshot of the depth and diversity of artistic practice happening right now in the UAE.
